Systematic theology is the attempt to put Christian doctrine in a logical order, often starting from one fundamental principle. Biblical theology enriches our understanding of Scripture by exploring how the different biblical books contribute to its overall theological message.

Urban Apologetics is the defense of the Christian faith against objections coming from Black and minority unbelievers. It seeks to answer the unique questions of skeptics within the “urban” context.

Homiletics is the study and practice of preaching in the context of Christian worship. It involves the art and science of preparing and delivering sermons, which are intended to convey the teachings of the Bible, inspire and edify the listeners, and encourage spiritual growth and transformation.

Hermeneutics is the study of principles and methods used to interpret the Bible. It aims to understand the text's meaning, including its original context, authorial intent, and relevance for contemporary readers. Hermeneutics seeks to ensure that the Bible's message remains clear and unaltered across time. 

Studying Black Church history is vital to understanding the Body of Christ in totality. It also helps to equip people of color to minister in contexts which are predominately Black.

Orthopraxy emphasizes the importance of right behavior and actions, as well as the right beliefs or orthodoxy. In essence, orthopraxy highlights the idea that faith should be reflected in one's actions and practices. Orthopathy emphasizes the importance of having the right motivations and affections when serving God. It suggests that our feelings, desires, and emotions should be aligned with God's will.
